Chris Vignieri stepped up to run for Supervisor of Elections in November because he believes Lee County deserves better than the tawdry, corrupt mess DeSantis has made of our Elections Office.
When our previous Supervisor of Elections, Tommy Doyle, retired early this year, DeSantis appointed Jenna Persons-Mulicka as the acting SOE. Her father, Armor Persons, will be on the ballot running for School Board. This means Persons-Mulicka will oversee an election in which her father is a candidate.
Additonally, she’s married to David Mulicka, a Lee County Commissioner who will be on the ballot in 2028.
Our Supervisor of Elections is entrusted with administering elections in a manner that inspires public confidence. If the Supervisor's family members are on the ballot, an inherent conflict of interest arises.
Election integrity depends not only on actual impartiality, but on the unquestioned appearance of impartiality.
Public trust demands a higher standard. And that’s why Chris Vignieri is running to replace Persons-Mulicka.
Chris has served as Chief Legal Counsel for the Department of Children and Families in our region, overseeing the legal office that serves nearly 6 million Floridians. That job demands exactly what the Supervisor of Elections demands: fairness, consistency, legal precision, and zero tolerance for partisanship.
Chris Vignieri will restore the integrity of our Elections Office and the public’s faith in the fairness of our elections. Join us on Thurs., July 16, to meet this exciting candidate.
