The first Sunday of each month, the Democratic Party of Lee County hosts 2-3 non-partisan charitable groups to share volunteers for an afternoon of fun activism.  Light refreshments are served.  Teens are welcome to join.

SWFL Coalition for Democracy will explain their community action. Volunteers can donate food, clothing, and toiletry items for the SWFL Coalition for Democracy's support of our local immigrant families who lost their breadwinner due to detention or deportation.

Reproductive Access Group (an arm of the National Organization of Women) will explain their support for college communities and how they collect, bag up, and distribute kits to incoming students on local campuses.  The kits include: feminine hygiene products, condoms, and pregnancy tests.

Participants are not required to bring donations, just their willingness to learn and volunteer for the afternoon.  If you are able the following items are welcome:

Non-perishable foods: dry rice, dry beans, name-brand cereals, salsa, baby formula, diapers, toiletries, grocery gift cards

New or lightly used clothing and toys for children and teens or gift cards

Feminine hygiene products, condoms, pregnancy tests.
